Cricket event with Lillian Baylis Technology School (LBTS)

A joint WCIT/LBTS half day event will be hosted by Surrey County Cricket Club at the famous Oval stadium.

10 WCIT members will join a mixed gender group of 30 LBTS Year 7/8 students (11/12 years old) and enjoy an indoor cricket competition, a tour of the Oval stadium, a talk from Surrey’s Development Officer and a buffet lunch.

There are ten places available for WCIT members at a cost of £25 each.The event is being organised by the WCIT Diversity Working Group in partnership with Surrey CCC. The aim is to encourage extra-curricular collaboration between company members and students from one of our sponsored schools, LBTS, while giving girls and boys an opportunity to discover the wonderful sport of cricket.

The programme for the day is:

• Arrive – 10am
• Introductions/Housekeeping – 10.15-10.30am
• Competition – 10.30-11.30am
• Tour – 11.30-12pm
• Buffet Lunch with short talks from Surrey CCC and WCIT – 12-12.30pm
• Depart

It is hoped that this will become an annual event that will foster close ties between WCIT, LBTS and Surrey CCC.
